Branches of Love to Shine at Lipscomb
There's a new reason to celebrate the season this Christmas! The Lipscomb University Student Alumni Association (SAA) is partnering with Youth Encouragement Services (YES) for Branches of Love, an event that will provide decorated Christmas trees to 40 deserving, less fortunate Nashville families.
The Branches of Love teams will decorate their trees on Tuesday, December 1 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm on the Lipscomb campus just prior to the Lighting of the Green featuring Amy Grant and other performers at 5:30 pm. Teams of four will compete for the best designed Christmas tree in one of three categories: Old Fashioned Christmas, Winter Wonderland, and Santa is Coming to Town. The trees will be available for viewing immediately following Lighting of the Green.
Each participating team will submit a $50 entry fee which covers the costs of the tree. Each team will provide their own decorations to fit the theme they choose. After the competition, YES will identify Nashville families to receive the trees.
If you're unable to decorate a tree, you can still make a family's Christmas brighter by participating in the YES Angel program. You can take a child's name from a YES Angel tree and purchase items they need for Christmas. Also, you can make a monetary donation to Branches of Love.
